April Cursons, a fellow colleague and book
club member has been given the fantastic opportunity to promote and manage the
'Six Book Challenge'.
The Reading Agency’s Six Book Challenge encourages
adults and young people to enjoy and expand their reading. Over 40,000 people take part each year through libraries,
colleges, adult education and prisons.
The aim of the game is to grab yourself a
reading diary, read 6 things throughout the year- whether it be a book, journal
or online article (it really is up to you), fill out your diary (a short review
and mark out of 5) submit it to the College Learning Resource Centre and voila!
You have completed the challenge!
For Yeovil College Students-encourage your class to sign up to take the challenge and
you’ll be entered into the special prize draw! If everyone in your tutor group
completes the challenge, you could win a retro sweets hamper to share! “
For more information contact April at learningcentre@yeovil.ac.uk.
Check out April promoting the challenge at the
Yeovil College Fresher's Fayre, the response was phenomenal!
